Learning new stuff
23 things has really created a stir amongst us all. The staff are complaining but by golly they are doing it and learning together, which is a cool thing to watch. Staff who are not normally the "go to" folks for tech questions are really stepping up to the plate with this. I love seeing this happen. And thank goodness they are even helping me.

I kept telling everyone that web 2.0 was fun...maybe now they'll believe me. :-) I'm glad to see so many of our staff gaining new skills and lots of confidence using technology.
I've worked here for nine months and for the first time I am being asked for help/advice. It's nice to know that I can contribute something. :)
I agree. I've set aside a couple of "official" 23 Things work times twice a week to encourage my staff to work on the project (although they are not limited to only those times by any means). This week it was exciting to walk out into the workroom and see everyone laughing and helping each other and saying, "Now, how do you download...?" and just having a frustrating but fun time.
I think one of the powerful things about this project is the fact that all of Southern Maryland is working on it together. I ask almost everyone I meet, "Hey, how's your blog going? What's your blog's name?" and so forth. We all gain shared vocabulary and mental models too!
